The impact of any government scheme is proved when its benefits bring positive and lasting change to ordinary people’s lives at the grassroots level. One such empowering initiative is the Prime Minister’s Scheduled Tribe and Adi–Harshak Justice Campaign (PM Janman), whose effects are clearly visible in the Raigarh district. Under this plan, Shri Ratrm Biroar, a resident of the remote village Kurra in the Laiunga development block, realized his biggest dream of a safe, permanent house. Years of living in an unroofed hut amid monsoon, cold, and poisonous creatures, Ratrm and his family entered a sanctioned PM Janman house—a moment that will remain unforgettable. The construction began after approval and was completed within the promised time. The new stone‑bedded home not only provides safety but also brings stability, self‑confidence and dignity. Ratrm says that living in a makeshift house was a necessity, whereas living in a permanent house now brings pride. Notably, the PM Janman scheme, launched by the Indian government in 2023, is an ambitious mission aimed at the all‑round development of especially vulnerable tribal groups. Its goal is to deliver basic amenities—housing, education, health, clean drinking water, electricity, livelihood, and connectivity—to the final beneficiary. The PM Janman scheme has become not only a government program but a strong foundation of justice, equality and self‑respect for the tribal communities. Ratrm’s story from Kurra exemplifies how, when schemes are implemented correctly, they change not only people’s pictures but also destinies.
