The administration in Raigarh district, Chhattisgarh, has initiated action to reclaim 23 acres of land illegally occupied by Navdurga Fuel Power Limited in the Saraiapali area of the Tamnar block. The Revenue Department’s probe confirmed that the company had occupied the government’s Kotwari land for two decades, employing fraudulent methods. The department has issued a notice, granting the company 15 days to vacate the premises. The investigation began after the Revenue Department received complaints regarding the illegal occupation of the land. The investigation revealed that Navdurga Fuel Power Limited had taken control of the Kotwari land for its plant, backed by falsified documents. It was discovered that the company’s operation on the land for 20 years was facilitated by a combination of fabricated documents and collusion. The Revenue Department has now demanded that the company vacate the land within the next 15 days. The administration will take action to recover the land and pursue legal proceedings if the company fails to comply. The villagers of Saraiapali and neighboring areas have expressed satisfaction with the administration’s actions. They have acknowledged and appreciated the efforts to address the issue of the decades-long encroachment.
