The victims’ bodies were found buried at their home, which has spurred a comprehensive inquiry. Patel has a record of violent behavior, including a prior murder conviction that led to imprisonment in Uttar Pradesh. Law enforcement officials have stated that the murders of Budhram Sidar, his wife, their daughter and their son, appear to be the result of a long-standing conflict over land and personal differences.
