Police from Kotwali received a report about the incident at Girwa Ghat. Police officers and divers entered the water to rescue the couple. They faced dangerous conditions due to the strong current but managed to reach the young man who was stranded. The young man identified himself as Rahul, a resident of Kashi Nagar. He shared his love story with a girl from Atal Awas in Maharana Pratap Nagar. He further mentioned that their wish to get married was turned down by the girl’s family, which prompted the couple to jump into the Hasdev River.
Rahul stated that divers could not locate his girlfriend. The search for her continues.
