A woman’s life was shattered by betrayal and exploitation in a harrowing case from Bundelkhand. Her uncle sold her for Rs 1.5 lakh, and her husband then forced her into prostitution. The woman, who is from Chhattisgarh, alleges that her uncle betrayed her trust by selling her. Her husband, Rajesh Ghosh, is accused of forcing her into the sex trade and of violence. The victim’s complaint was initially ignored by the police, but a case of assault has now been registered against the husband. The investigation is ongoing. She was also taken to Indore and Gwalior, where the ordeal continued, and all her earnings were seized by her husband.
