Somru Ram of Abujhmad’s years-long wait ends, Aadhaar card made in ‘a single day’ at Good Governance camp

The ‘Good Governance Festival 2026’ campaign, run by the Chhattisgarh government for the speedy resolution of public problems, is bringing new hope and happiness to the villagers of the remote forest areas. A very pleasant picture of this has emerged from the Abujhmad area of Narayanpur district, where the Aadhaar card of Mr. Somru Ram Podiyam, a resident of Pediakote village, which has been pending for years, was made in just one day with the promptness of the Good Governance camp.

Lack of resources and distance were obstacles

Somru Ram, living in an extremely remote and inaccessible area like Pediakote, had been trying to get his Aadhaar card made since the beginning of the Aadhaar scheme. But due to geographical difficulties, lack of resources, and absence of necessary facilities, his Aadhaar card could not be made. Due to not having this important identity document, he was facing continuous difficulties in availing the benefits of various public welfare schemes and facilities of the government.

‘On the spot’ solution in the camp

The solution camp organized under the Good Governance Festival proved to be a boon for Somru Ram. As soon as his problem came before the district administration officials in the camp, the officials acted immediately with sensitivity. His documentation and biometric process was completed at the camp site itself and his Aadhaar registration was done. The work that was stuck for years was completed in a few hours with administrative promptness.

Smile returns to Somru Ram’s face

Receiving his Aadhaar card in hand, the joy of Somru Ram’s years-long wait ending was clearly visible on his face. Becoming emotional, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai and the Narayanpur district administration. He said that now I will not have any problem in getting the benefits of government schemes. The administration itself came to us and resolved our problem.

Good governance reaching inaccessible areas of Abujhmad

Providing citizen services so quickly in an area like Abujhmad, which is included among the most difficult and inaccessible areas of the country, is a great success of the ‘Good Governance Festival’. Officials of the Narayanpur district administration say that the main objective of the Good Governance Festival is to ensure that government schemes and basic facilities reach the person at the last end without any hindrance and with complete transparency.
