Raipur, February 01, 2026/Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, reacting to the Union Budget 2026-27, said that this budget is a historic document towards a golden and developed future for India. This is the first budget prepared in the Kartavya Bhawan, which has kept three main duties – economic development and employment generation, fulfillment of public expectations, and ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ – at its center, keeping in mind the overall development of the country and the welfare of every citizen.
The Chief Minister said that this budget, presented by Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, will prove to be a milestone for the upliftment of the poor, farmers, youth, women, middle class, and labor class. He said that states like Chhattisgarh will directly benefit from this budget.
Strengthening Agriculture and Rural Economy
Several important steps have been taken in the budget to increase farmers’ income and strengthen the rural economy. Plans have been made to increase agricultural productivity through AI and modern technology, and to promote animal husbandry and the dairy industry. Also, under the Mahatma Gandhi Gram Swaraj initiative, new employment opportunities will be created for villagers by promoting local industries and handicrafts.
New Employment Opportunities for Youth
The Chief Minister said that special emphasis has been given to job creation for youth in this budget. New opportunities will be created in sectors like startups, MSMEs, manufacturing, and tourism. Promoting tourism will accelerate local economic development and provide employment to youth in their own regions. Foreign travel and studying abroad will also be cheaper than before.
Historic Initiative in the Health Sector
Calling the budget historic for the health sector, the Chief Minister said that a provision of Rs 10,000 crore has been made for the biopharma sector, which will make medicines for serious diseases like cancer and diabetes cheaper. The upgradation of district hospitals, establishment of emergency and trauma centers in every district, promotion of mental health and Ayurvedic medicine, along with the establishment of five regional hubs in states for medical tourism, will improve the standard of health services across the country, including Chhattisgarh, and also open new employment opportunities.
New Direction for Women Empowerment
Through the expansion of the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, arrangements have been made to connect women with credit-linked self-employment, entrepreneurship, and local markets. Additionally, the announcement of hostel construction for girls in every district will help them in higher education.
Promotion of Industry, Education, and Sports
For the economic strengthening of the country, 7 high-speed rail corridors, 20 new waterways, large textile parks, and mineral corridors in 4 states have been announced. An investment of Rs 40,000 crore for the semiconductor mission will give new momentum to industrial development and employment. Reforms in the Khelo India Mission and the education sector will provide better opportunities to children and youth.
Tax Reforms and Relief for the Common Public
The income tax process has been simplified and an easy system has been made for small taxpayers. Medicines, clothes, shoes, mobiles, EV batteries, solar equipment, biogas-CNG, and many other daily necessities will become cheaper, providing direct relief to the common public.
Finally, the Chief Minister said that the Union Budget 2026-27 further strengthens the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas aur Sabka Vishwas’. This budget will ensure inclusive development across the country, including Chhattisgarh. He extended his heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Smt.
