The Chhattisgarh Vyapam has updated its examination rules, introducing several changes to ensure a fair and secure testing environment. Candidates will no longer be permitted to wear shoes and are required to wear sandals or slippers. Additionally, only half-sleeved clothing is allowed, and wearing jewelry will be prohibited inside the examination hall. These new regulations will be applicable from the Sub Engineer recruitment exam on July 20.
The entry gates will be closed 15 minutes before the start of the exam. If an exam is scheduled for 10:00 AM, the gate will close at 9:45 AM. Permitted attire includes light-colored clothing with half sleeves. Candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination center during the initial and final 30 minutes of the exam.
Vyapam is adopting stricter examination procedures, similar to those used in NEET, JEE, and UPSC exams. The guidelines regarding clothing, footwear, and jewelry will be closely aligned. Candidates will be subject to metal detector checks in addition to manual searches. Police personnel will also be deployed to monitor the examination center and its surroundings during the exam. According to authorities, the new rules will be implemented with the Sub Engineer recruitment exam by the Water Resources Department on July 20.
Any form of communication, including whispering, shouting, or using gestures, is strictly prohibited within the examination hall. Failure to follow official instructions, misconduct, or engaging in disputes will result in disciplinary action. Following a cheating case during the PWD exam on Sunday, Vyapam reiterated its guidelines regarding unfair practices. These guidelines, initially issued in February 2023, list the prohibited activities during the exam.
The use of mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, earphones, calculators, and other communication devices is completely prohibited.
