Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has ignited hopes for Jashpur’s youth by laying the foundation stone for the Mayali-Bagicha tourism project, a Rs 10 crore effort backed by Swadesh Darshan 2.0’s CBDD program. The event at Mayali Nature Camp marks the start of enhancements in Mayali, the iconic Madheshwar Mountain, and Kailash Cave precincts.
‘This is Jashpur’s tourism renaissance,’ Sai beamed, congratulating the community. He envisioned Mayali evolving into an international draw.
Rooted in the sacred Madheshwar Mahadev—revered for the planet’s biggest natural Shivling—the project will amplify its spiritual and scenic appeal globally. Highlights: a plush resort and skill center adjacent to Mayali Dam.
With the homestay policy in place, rural households stand to gain immensely. Tourists will immerse in authentic experiences amid lush forests, gushing falls, rugged hills, and vibrant tribal traditions, channeling revenue back to the grassroots.
A dedicated skill development facility promises training in tourism essentials—from guiding and hospitality to adventure pursuits, artisan skills, and digital tools—unlocking jobs and broadcasting Jashpur’s unique ethos.
Developments span five cottages, event halls, majestic portals, enclosures, state-of-the-art restrooms, beautified landscapes, and walkways. Temple zones benefit from better entries and trails; Kailash Cave gets revamped with outing areas, shelters, waterfronts, paths, stairs, and barriers for safety.
Expected outcomes: heightened tourism footfall, robust local livelihoods, and elevated recognition of the area’s pristine nature and heritage on the national stage.
