The Madhya Pradesh Assembly’s budget session turned theatrical when Congress lawmakers took to the streets with thalis on Thursday, protesting government policies amid loud anti-BJP chants. BJP’s Rameshwar Sharma quickly labeled it a futile exercise in futility.
Addressing the media, Sharma quipped, ‘Congress is just whipping up khayali pulao – nothing but hot air.’ He portrayed the party as idle agitators. ‘No agenda, no achievements; they’re manufacturing chaos outside the house to dupe the masses.’
Sharma’s broadside extended to Congress’s legacy. ‘Never fair to the country, farmers, girls, or students – that’s their story,’ he said. ‘Voters know who’s truly supportive, which is why Congress’s thalis are bare, and they’re left rattling them for notice.’
Zeroing in on Rahul Gandhi, he remarked, ‘A leader void of appeal sours the entire outfit. His empty-plate brigade mirrors the party’s Madhya Pradesh meltdown, irked by BJP’s pro-people work.’
Celebrating current governance, Sharma spotlighted PM Modi’s popularity and the double-engine setup. ‘We’re delivering schemes galore, empowering direct grievance redressal,’ he explained. ‘Past governments turned a blind eye, earning public scorn. Today, Congress is irrelevant.’
This spat reveals stark partisan fault lines, with BJP touting tangible progress against Congress’s symbolic gestures. The budget session promises more drama ahead.
