Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to bolster infrastructure and connectivity through multiple projects in Bihar and West Bengal. In Bihar, development works amounting to over Rs 7,200 crore will be dedicated to the nation or have their foundation stones laid, focusing on Software Technology Parks, new Amrit Bharat trains, and road projects. In West Bengal, projects valued at over Rs 5,000 crore will be launched in Durgapur, targeting oil and gas, power, railways, and road sectors. Key railway initiatives include the automatic signalling system on the Samastipur-Bachhwara line, doubling of the Darbhanga-Thalwara and Samastipur-Rambhadrapur rail lines, and infrastructure development for Vande Bharat trains. Road infrastructure will be enhanced through the four-laning of the Ara bypass and the Parariya to Mohania section. The IT sector will benefit from the establishment of new STPI facilities in Darbhanga and Patna. Additionally, fisheries development projects under the PMMSY scheme will be inaugurated in Bihar. The Prime Minister will also flag off four new Amrit Bharat trains, release funds for Self-Help Groups, and distribute keys under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin. West Bengal will see the launch of a BPCL City Gas Distribution project, the Durgapur to Kolkata natural gas pipeline, and the Retrofitting Pollution Control System for thermal power stations. The Purulia – Kotshila Rail Line will be doubled, and road over bridges will be inaugurated as part of the Setu Bharatam Programme.
