‘Cook eggs, meat totally’, Union minister says as chicken flu worry grips a number of states

Amid chicken flu (avian influenza) outbreak in a number of states, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and  Dairying Giriraj Singh on Wednesday supplied some advise to to individuals fearing concerning the an infection affecting the people. Allaying all such apprehensions, Giriraj Singh there isn’t any have to panic over stories of chicken flu outbreak. 

The minister suggested individuals to prepare dinner meat and eggs totally. “Reports have come from some states about migratory birds dying from bird flu. Make sure that you cook meat and eggs well. There is no need to panic. We have alerted the states and all possible help is being provided,” Singh tweeted in Hindi.

Thousands of birds have died in the previous couple of days in states like Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala resulting from avian influenza. Kerala and Tamil Nadu have even ordered culling of lakhs of poultry because of the outbreak.

Meanwhile, the federal government has arrange a management room (Telephone no. 011-23382354) to methods coordinate and facilitate state governments with regard to outbreak administration, illness management and containment.

About Bird Flu or Avian Influenza

Avian Influenza (AI) viruses have been circulating worldwide for hundreds of years with 4 identified main outbreaks recorded within the final century. India notified the primary outbreak of avian influenza in 2006. Infection in people will not be but reported in India although the illness is zoonotic. There is not any direct proof that AI viruses will be transmitted to people by way of the consumption of contaminated poultry merchandise. 

In India, the illness spreads primarily by migratory birds coming into India throughout winter months – from September – October to February – March.
