Dalit man shot lifeless over outdated enmity in Mau: Police
Tension prevailed in Chiraiya Kot space of Mau district on Wednesday, a day after a 20-year-old Dalit man was shot lifeless allegedly over “old enmity”. Family members of the deceased, Arvind, has accused Rahul Singh, a member of the Thakur group, of killing him.
According to police, the incident happened on Tuesday night when Arvind, who was getting ready for Indian Army recruitment, had gone for jogging with two associates, Aman and Abhishek. Both of them had fled the spot after the homicide.
Police mentioned following his demise, native residents of Asalpur village attacked just a few homes belonging to members of the Thakur group.
Rahul’s relative, Kailash Singh, suffered head damage in the course of the assault. The villagers additionally protested with Arvind’s physique and blocked the highway resulting in the village. When a police staff reached the spot, the protesters hurled stones at them and torched a police van. An extra police staff was rushed to the spot. Police officers then satisfied the protesters and introduced the state of affairs underneath management, they added.
According to police, there was a land dispute between the households of Arvind and Rahul since 2017. Last 12 months in September, Arvind’s uncle Munna Baghi who was the pradhan of Asalpur village was shot lifeless. Rahul, who is needed within the homicide case, has been absconding since then. Six different accused had been arrested on this connection and are at present lodged in jail. Police have introduced a money reward of Rs 50,000 in change for any data on Rahul.
Superintendent of Police, Mau, Ghule Sushil Chandrabhan mentioned Aman and Abhishek had been traced on Wednesday and police are but to query them.
On Tuesday, Arvind had gone for jogging with Aman and Abhishek for the primary time. “The role of both the men is under scrutiny,” mentioned the SP.
Station House Officer, Chiraiya Kot police station, Rpesh Kumar Singh mentioned a case of homicide has been lodged towards Rahul. No one has been arrested but, he added.
The SHO added that one other case of arson and stone pelting wherein police’s jeep and bike had been set ablaze shall be lodged.
