Swift and sensitive policing by Delhi’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit has ensured two missing boys—aged 12 and 15—are back in the loving arms of their families. The recoveries from Mukherjee Nagar and Wazirabad zones demonstrate exemplary coordination.
The initial incident concerned a 12-year-old with intellectual disabilities who went missing in Mukherjee Nagar on September 6, 2025. An FIR under BNS 137(2) was registered, and AHTU assumed control given the high-risk profile.
ACP Suresh Kumar oversaw the efforts of Inspector Mukesh Kumar and ASI Ajay Kumar Jha. The team delved into CCTV records, engaged neighborhood sources, deployed advanced tech, broadcast alerts online, and probed family backgrounds. Their persistence paid off with the boy’s unharmed retrieval.
It turned out the child stayed in a Nirankari Colony rental, earning by cleaning vehicles by day and guarding at night. A momentary lapse due to his condition sent him wandering to Anand Vihar Bus Terminal—no criminal intent detected.
Meanwhile, the 15-year-old’s disappearance from Wazirabad on January 22, 2026, followed a heated family argument. Post-FIR on January 24, AHTU’s team—Inspector Mukesh Kumar, ASI Mahesh, HC Naresh Kumar—under ACP guidance, mobilized comprehensively.
Through grassroots inquiries, digital monitoring, on-ground searches, and kin consultations, ASI Mahesh’s breakthrough led to the boy’s location at Azadpur Mandi on February 4, 2026. He had simply run to his aunt’s.
Handed over safely, the cases now proceed at local stations. Gratitude from families and locals pours in for AHTU’s seamless work, enhancing faith in Delhi Police’s child protection mechanisms.
These victories remind us of the profound impact of vigilant law enforcement in safeguarding the young and vulnerable.
