The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for the Delhi-NCR region, including Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad, because of persistent monsoon activity across North India. The weather forecast for Delhi indicates potential heavy rain. The beginning of September saw an unusual start for students in multiple states. The impact of the heavy monsoon rains resulted in school closures, allowing students an extended break from academic routines. Continuous rainfall has been affecting Delhi since Monday morning. At noon, the Yamuna River’s water level at the Old Railway Bridge (ORB) was recorded at 204.87 meters, very near the official danger level of 205.33 meters. Officials have warned that the river level could exceed 206 meters by Tuesday evening, a critical threshold. Consequently, preventative measures have been implemented in low-lying areas.
