Delhi Police visits WFI chief’s UP residence, information statements of associates, staff

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police has recorded statements of associates of WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and folks working at his residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda as part of the investigation into sexual harassment allegations in opposition to him, officers acknowledged on Tuesday.

They moreover acknowledged the girl whose assertion was the thought of a case being registered in opposition to Singh beneath the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has recorded a current assertion beneath the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) half 164.

The officers acknowledged police are accumulating proof in reference to the case filed in opposition to the BJP MP, and may submit a report in courtroom accordingly.

“A team of Delhi Police visited Gonda and recorded statements of Singh’s associates and those working at his house, including his driver. This is being done as part of further investigation to collect evidence and corroborate versions of the witnesses with that of Singh and the complainants in the case,” an official acknowledged.

“Since the case is very sensitive, we cannot divulge any information regarding it,” he added.

The crew checked their IDs and well-known their addresses whereas recording the statements, police added.

Over 125 of us, along with relations and associates from either side, have been interrogated and their statements have been recorded.

Singh has been questioned twice, sources acknowledged.

Technical, digital and information proof have been collected. As rapidly as a result of the investigation is concluded, a value sheet will doubtless be filed in courtroom, they added.
