Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla’s patience snapped during a crucial review of Gudh Industrial Area in Rewa. Highlighting the painfully slow pace of development works, he warned officials against any complacency, stressing that such lapses undermine the state’s industrial ambitions.
The session dissected the flagship Rs 16 crore water initiative, with just Rs 7 crore expended to date. Completion promises 10 MLD total capacity—split evenly between municipal needs and industrial demands—heralding stronger water security and business viability.
Essential infrastructure forms the backbone of industrial growth, Shukla asserted, calling for prioritized execution of power, road, water, and drainage expansions. High-level officials must conduct frequent audits to keep projects on track.
Beyond infrastructure, Shukla envisioned Gudh as a job magnet for Rewa’s youth, fostering direct factory roles and ancillary opportunities to invigorate the local economy. Departments were instructed to collaborate closely, as evidenced by the attendance of MPIDC MD Chandramouli Shukla. This renewed focus signals a determined drive toward sustainable industrial expansion.
