Rajasthan took a bold step forward with Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari unveiling the 2026-27 state budget in the legislative assembly. As Finance Minister, she positioned this fiscal plan as the cornerstone for a developed Rajasthan, marking her third such presentation.
The comprehensive speech zeroed in on building a strong base, visionary development for ‘Viksit Rajasthan’, improvements in education and healthcare, infrastructure expansion, employment drives, farmer income enhancement, self-reliance efforts, and economic robustness.
Post-budget, in conversation with media, Kumari shared insights: ‘We’ve always crafted impactful budgets, focusing on priorities. Foundation-building comes first; our announcements reflect this. Detailing our 10 development pillars, we’ve included key elements and innovative declarations essential for growth.’
Emphasizing urgency, she stated, ‘To realize a developed Rajasthan, foundations must be laid now—through better schooling, health access, superior infrastructure, jobs, farmer prosperity measures, and economic empowerment. Self-reliance and a fortified economy are imperatives.’
Boosted allocations for infrastructure topped previous records, while the green budget gained substantial backing. Analogous to the Centre’s duties, their 10 pillars guide this vision. Disappointed by the opposition Congress’s lack of understanding, Kumari reaffirmed the budget’s transformative potential.
