New details have emerged regarding the Delhi blast near the Red Fort, identifying the car’s driver as Dr. Umar Mohammad, a physician reportedly connected to a Faridabad-based terror module. Dr. Mohammad, who originates from Pulwama, is alleged to have been at the wheel of the Hyundai i20 that exploded. This revelation comes in the wake of the apprehension of eight individuals and the seizure of approximately 2,900 kg of explosives in Faridabad, a significant portion of which was suspected ammonium nitrate. Preliminary forensic reports suggest the use of ammonium nitrate, fuel oil, and detonators in the attack that resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries. The connection to the Faridabad cache, which contained ammonium nitrate, potassium nitrate, and sulfur, alongside arms and ammunition, is a primary focus of the investigation. Delhi Police have registered an FIR under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosives Act. In response to the escalating threat, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is presiding over a crucial security meeting with top national security advisors and police chiefs.
