Thursday marked a floral flourish in Greater Noida as the annual flower exhibition opened at City Park with patriotic fervor. Chief guest Dr. Mahesh Sharma, MP from Gautam Buddh Nagar, lit the inaugural lamp, celebrating flowers as nature’s timeless treasure.
In his keynote, Dr. Sharma underscored the symbiotic relationship between humans and flora, rooted in India’s heritage. Flowers, he noted, symbolize life’s continuum, gracing ceremonies from cradle to grave with their vibrant allure.
Hosted by the Greater Noida Authority till March 1, the free-entry event invites everyone to partake in this botanical bonanza. It’s a strategic push to promote green living and community engagement.
The guest list boasted BJP district head Abhishek Sharma, Pramod Gupta, and Authority executives including CEO NG Ravi Kumar. Dr. Sharma lauded the team’s fiscal recovery, crediting it for the city’s developmental surge.
Cultural performances set the stage, with young performers invoking Saraswati’s blessings. The night’s wow factor was an unprecedented drone show, sketching national icons like the India map, Ram Temple, and Yogi Adityanath’s visage against the starry backdrop.
Dominating the displays is the ‘Operation Sindoor’ floral tribute, joined by innovative sculptures—a blooming tiger, heart from capsicum, and resplendent peacock. Crowds flocked for selfies, amplifying the event’s viral appeal.
Vendor stalls enhanced the experience with plant sales, crafts, and gourmet bites. Running four days, this showcase positions Greater Noida as a beacon of cultural innovation, blending tradition with modern spectacle to inspire and unite residents.
