Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Durgapur, West Bengal, presided over the inauguration and foundation stone laying events for a series of development projects. These projects are in the Oil and Gas, Power, Road, and Rail sectors. Addressing a public rally, PM Modi focused on investment in the state. He alleged that the TMC’s actions, particularly the demand for money from businessmen coupled with threats, were creating a disincentive for investment. The Prime Minister referred to this practice as the ‘Gunda Tax’.
