EAM Jaishankar receives cellphone name from Ukrainian overseas minister

NEW DELHI: Ahead of the essential vote on the UN Security Council on the Russian assault on Ukraine, the nation’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on Friday spoke to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and shared his evaluation of the present scenario in Ukraine.
Jaishankar stated he emphasised that India helps diplomacy and dialogue because the “way out”. “Received call from Ukrainian FM @DmytroKuleba. He shared his assessment of the current situation. I emphasised that India supports diplomacy & dialogue as the way out,” Jaishankar tweeted.
“Discussed predicament of Indian nationals, including students. Appreciate his support for their safe return,” he added.
The UN Security Council is scheduled to vote on Friday night on a draft decision on Russia’s army operation in Ukraine in addition to the escalating scenario within the japanese European nation.
The draft decision is ready to sentence within the strongest phrases Russia’s army operation in Ukraine that has triggered robust outrage by the Western powers.
When requested at a media briefing on Thursday about India’s place on the draft UN Security decision on the Ukraine disaster, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla stated India has seen it and that New Delhi’s stand will depend upon the ultimate form of its textual content.
“I am told that that would undergo considerable changes. We will wait to see the shape that the resolution takes before we can pronounce ourselves and the position that we will take on the issue,” he stated.
In the midst of the escalating scenario in Ukraine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic dialog with President Vladimir Putin on Thursday throughout which he appealed for ending violence, and known as for concerted efforts from all sides to return to the trail of diplomatic dialogue.
Jaishankar too held a cellphone dialog together with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov and underlined that dialogue and diplomacy are the easiest way ahead to take care of the disaster.
