EC pulls up Gujarat chief secy, DGP for failing to file compliance report on switch of officers

NEW DELHI: Taking a stern view of the failure of Gujarat authorities officers to ship a compliance report on switch and posting of officers forward of the Assembly polls, the Election Commission has sought a proof from the state chief secretary and DGP.
Citing a letter the EC shot off to the Gujarat chief secretary on Friday, sources stated regardless of reminders the chief secretary and the Director General of Police didn’t ship compliance studies on switch and posting of sure class of officers forward of the polls.
Now they’ve been requested to clarify the circumstances as to why the compliance studies haven’t been furnished “so far even after the lapse of stipulated time limit despite issuing of the reminder in the matter,” a supply stated quoting the letter.

The letters concerning switch and posting of officers have been despatched to Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat.
While Himachal Pradesh will go to polls on November 12, dates are but to be introduced for Gujarat election.
The fee had directed the 2 state governments to switch officers posted of their residence districts and people who have spent three years in a district within the final 4 years.

It is common for the ballot panel to concern such instructions forward of Lok Sabha and meeting polls to make sure free and honest elections.
