Eknath Shinde govt restores normal consent to CBI to probe circumstances in Maharashtra

MUMBAI: The Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra authorities has reversed the earlier Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) dispensation’s resolution of withdrawing the overall consent to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to research circumstances within the state.
The Shinde authorities restored the overall consent given to the central probe company, an official stated.
CM Shinde cleared the proposal of the house division headed by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to reverse the choice of MVA authorities to withdraw the overall consent to the CBI to probe circumstances within the state, the official from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) instructed PTI.
With the reversal of this resolution, the CBI will not require permission of the state authorities to step in, he stated.
On October 21, 2020, the Uddhav Thackeray-led MVA authorities had withdrawn the overall consent to the CBI underneath the rivalry that the central authorities was misusing central probe businesses to settle political scores.
