Election Commission of India to Implement Door-to-Door Verification for Bihar Voter Lists

To ensure the integrity of voter lists for the Bihar assembly elections in 2025, the Election Commission is implementing a rigorous door-to-door verification process. This initiative is designed to address persistent concerns about the accuracy of electoral rolls, specifically regarding the inclusion and deletion of names. The EC hopes to ‘purify’ the electoral rolls. The EC frequently revises the voter lists. The current exercise mirrors a similar intensive revision undertaken in 2004.
