The Election Commission is organizing an important meeting on Wednesday, September 10th, to discuss the implementation of the Systematic Electoral Roll Revision (SIR) across the country. The meeting will include Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) from all states and union territories, who will present reports on the status of voter lists in their respective regions. These reports will include data on voter numbers, previous revisions, and current amendment statuses. Based on these reports, the Election Commission will decide on the timing and locations for the SIR. The commission has highlighted that a thorough revision of the voter list hasn’t occurred since 2003. The meeting will take place at the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management in Dwarka, Delhi.
