Security forces in Maharashtra have struck a final blow to Maoist propaganda by dismantling all 44 memorials in Gadchiroli, as announced by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The operation eradicated the last vestiges of Naxal terror, earning praise for the courageous local police.
Fadnavis shared on X that these edifices were Maoist tools to spread panic in far-flung tribal hamlets and project power. Thanks to the administration’s robust anti-insurgency framework—encompassing operations, surrender programs, developmental thrust, and public outreach—the region is witnessing renewal.
Nearly 800 operatives from Gadchiroli police, C-60 commandos, CRPF, and elite teams executed a precision sweep in high-risk sub-divisions like Etapalli, Hedri, Bhamragad, Jimlagatta, Dhanora, and Pendhari. BDDs teams confirmed locations before controlled demolitions cleared the sites.
Once sites of intimidation, they now symbolize trust in governance and future prosperity. Fadnavis called it a turning point from terror to tranquility, violence to viability. He vowed zero tolerance for Maoism, with forces fully committed to safeguarding peace, law, and progress in Gadchiroli.
