Farmers’ Promises Kept: Telangana Minister Highlights Progress
1 min readTelangana’s Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy asserted on Sunday that the state administration is delivering on all commitments to its farming community, one by one. At a public forum in Khammam district, he outlined the government’s unwavering dedication to manifesto pledges.
Central to these efforts is the MSP-based procurement of paddy and maize, coupled with prompt payments within a week. This has instilled confidence among growers facing market volatilities.
Massive loan waivers covering Rs 2 lakh for 25 lakh farmers have alleviated financial burdens. Rythu Bharosa aid has been scaled up to Rs 12,000 per acre, while top-grade paddy earns a Rs 500/quintal bonus.
Farmers can look forward to subsidized equipment distribution events from May 5-7. In Warangal, the ‘Kisan Utsav’ on May 5, 6, and 7 promises accessible modern implements under Praja Palana.
‘Participate enthusiastically, brothers,’ the minister urged, underscoring the event’s importance. The new government’s formation of a Farmers’ Commission further solidifies policy focus.
He lambasted the previous BRS rule for jailing MSP-demanding farmers in Khammam and withholding subsidies over 10 years, now attempting hollow overtures. In contrast, ‘Jan Sarkar’ brings administration to the people—officers collect applications doorstep and resolve matters immediately, bypassing red tape.
This hands-on strategy is yielding tangible results, positioning Telangana as a model for farmer welfare and responsive governance.
