Five Covid-19 sufferers die at UP hospital, members of the family allege oxygen scarcity
Five coronavirus sufferers died at a personal hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh allegedly as a result of a scarcity in oxygen provide.
The incident happened at Naurangabad locality in Gandi Park space right here on Wednesday, in line with police.
However, Dr Sanjeev Sharma, the proprietor of the hospital, denied the claims and mentioned the hospital had satisfactory oxygen inventory.
Shyam Kashyap, whose 50-year-old brother Anil was amongst those that died on the hospital, informed media individuals that hospital authorities tried to cowl up the lapse by arranging 40 oxygen cylinders after the tragedy happened.
“If the hospital had sufficient stock of oxygen, then why did it suddenly ask authorities for oxygen supply at 9 pm on Wednesday?” he requested.
Agitated members of the family of the deceased individuals created a ruckus on the hospital, following which senior police officers rushed to the spot and defused the strain.
The hospital proprietor mentioned not one of the sufferers died as a result of lack of oxygen.
Sharma mentioned all of the 5 individuals have been on ventilator and their dying was a “mere coincidence”.
Meanwhile, City Magistrate Vineet Kumar mentioned, “At around 9 pm on Wednesday, the hospital authorities called for an emergency supply of oxygen which was given by 10 pm.”
Kumar mentioned the incident was being investigated.
