Former CJI Ranjan Gogoi supplied ‘Z+’ VIP safety cowl

The Centre has accorded the highest class ‘Z+’ VIP safety cowl to former Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi, official sources mentioned on Friday.
They mentioned Gogoi, 66, might be protected by armed commandos of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) throughout his journey all throughout the nation.
A Rajya Sabha member now, Gogoi was earlier being supplied with a safety cowl of the Delhi Police.
He retired in November, 2019 and was later nominated to the higher home of Parliament by the federal government.
The CRPF has a VIP safety unit and Gogoi is its 63rd protectee, sources mentioned.
They mentioned an armed cellular group of 8-12 CRPF commandos might be securing the previous CJI throughout journey whereas his home might be guarded by the same group.
