Authorities in Madhya Pradesh have detained an 18-year-old man following allegations of raping a four-year-old girl. The incident took place in Satna district, within the jurisdiction of the Uchehra police station. Reports indicate the assault occurred on June 23, with the accused reportedly luring the child with fruit before taking her to a secluded area near railway tracks. The girl was later found by women who notified her family. The police arrested the accused, initiated a probe, and the victim is receiving medical care. Separately, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken cognizance of a media report concerning a gang rape incident involving a 20-year-old college student on a beach in Odisha. The NHRC has issued notices to the state’s Chief Secretary and Director General of Police, seeking a detailed report.
