Four-year-old woman sexually assaulted and killed by uncle in Shimla

SHIMLA: A four-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted and killed by her uncle in Kotkhai space of Shimla district, police stated on Sunday.
In his grievance, the woman’s father stated that on Saturday he alongside along with his relations had gone out to work and on their return within the afternoon, they discovered the woman lacking from their makeshift home.
During a search, they noticed her slippers about 200 metres away from the ‘dera’ (makeshift home) and her physique was discovered close by. The household suspected that Deshraj, an uncle of the woman, killed her.
Preliminary investigations recommended that the woman was sexually assaulted and strangulated to demise.
A case of sexual assault and homicide underneath sections 302 and 376 of the IPC and sections 4 and 6 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered and the accused has been arrested, the police stated.
