Gadkari Highlights Road Infrastructure’s Impact on Logistics Costs and Economic Growth

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari stated that India’s logistics costs have been reduced by six percent, previously at 16 percent, thanks to substantial improvements in road infrastructure implemented by the Modi-led NDA government. He emphasized that these developments play a key role in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision to make India a ‘Vishwa Guru’ and to achieve a $5 trillion economy. Gadkari explained that lower logistics costs are expected to boost export competitiveness and support growth in the agricultural, service, and industrial sectors. He drew a comparison between India’s previous logistics challenges and those of other leading economies. He also shared that the government is working towards further reducing costs and expects to see India’s road infrastructure comparable to that of the US within the next two years, reflecting the ongoing investment in road and highway projects.
