A web portal for the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration 2025 has been initiated by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. The online registration and nomination process is underway, having started on October 1, 2025, and will conclude on November 15, 2025. The event was attended by District Collectors from all states and Union Territories.
The initiative aims to encourage competitive spirit, promote innovative ideas, and improve work methodologies. It focuses on delivering administrative strategies effectively to the public, with an emphasis on practical, on-the-ground implementation to ensure tangible results. Civil servants who have excelled in reaching scheme benefits to beneficiaries and ensured complete implementation will be recognized.
### Award Assessment
Applications will be assessed based on criteria including good governance, quality, and quantity. All districts are eligible to participate in the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration 2025. Districts with aspirational blocks, which include 500 blocks across 331 districts in India, can compete in the Aspirational Block Programme category.
Category-I applications will be evaluated for work and achievements between April 1, 2022, and September 30, 2025. For Categories II and III, the period for assessment is from April 1, 2023, to September 30, 2025. The Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration 2025 will present a total of 16 awards. The selection process involves shortlisting by a screening committee, assessment by an expert committee, and the final selection by an empowered committee. The Prime Minister’s approval will be required based on the recommendations of the empowered committee.
### Award Components
The award includes a trophy, a scroll, and a financial incentive of ₹20 lakh, which will be allocated towards public welfare projects within the winning district or organization.
