Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district witnessed a textbook police encounter that neutralized two reward-listed outlaws early Friday. Under Sen Paschim police station limits, a routine patrol transformed into a life-or-death showdown around 4 AM, leading to the arrest of Ankit Yadav and Shubham alias Guddu.
The suspects, traveling on a bike, panicked upon sighting the police checkpoint and resorted to indiscriminate firing. The officers, maintaining utmost professionalism, responded with controlled shots that felled both criminals with leg wounds, preventing their escape.
With Ankit’s Rs 15,000 and Shubham’s Rs 10,000 bounties, the pair was linked to over a dozen cases of robbery, assault, and illegal arms possession in Sandila areas. Kharela villagers identified them as key perpetrators in recent lootings that instilled fear across the community.
Key recoveries bolstered the case: two desi kaman, bullets, and the incriminating motorcycle. SP Neera Singh highlighted the operation’s success as evidence of round-the-clock vigilance. Post-treatment at a local hospital, the duo was remanded for questioning under the Gangsters and Arms Acts.
This development reassures residents amid a spike in petty crimes, with police vowing zero tolerance. The encounter not only removes immediate threats but also yields leads on wider gangs, promising safer streets ahead.
