Following heavy rainfall in East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, and Coastal Karnataka, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather alerts for numerous regions. Severe flooding has been reported in West Bengal’s Paschim Medinipur. The IMD forecasts continued wet conditions across Northeast, Central, West, and Northwest India. Residents should be prepared for potential disruptions to daily activities and traffic delays. The IMD has identified specific areas likely to experience heavy rainfall, including Rajasthan (July 13–16), Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh (July 14–16), Himachal Pradesh (July 13–18), Uttarakhand (July 13–18), Punjab (July 16), Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi (July 14), and West Uttar Pradesh (July 13, 16 & 17). Further torrential rainfall is expected in East Uttar Pradesh (July 14–17), Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Konkan, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. The national capital is expected to experience cloudy skies with light showers, thunderstorms, and lightning until July 18, according to the IMD.
