Amritsar Police have successfully dismantled a cross-border heroin smuggling operation linked to Pakistan, apprehending four individuals and seizing a significant quantity of narcotics. The counter-intelligence unit’s operation, conducted near the Indo-Pak border in Attari, resulted in the recovery of 4 kg of heroin. The police action targeted individuals involved in the transportation of the illegal substance. This bust follows a previous successful operation by the Amritsar Police Commissionerate targeting a multi-layered heroin trafficking ring. The investigation also led to the arrest of Sarbjit aka Joban and others. A total of 6.106 kg of heroin and two motorcycles were recovered. The First Information Report was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
