In candid remarks to the press, Mitkari detailed the NCP delegation’s plea: ‘The aircraft was substandard—unacceptable for any VIP. We pressed for a high-level probe to answer all queries.’ Fadnavis, empathetic amid the state’s mourning, confirmed CID’s role but yielded to demands for escalated scrutiny.
