Following a Supreme Court order, the CBI has launched investigations into a large-scale homebuyer fraud involving builders and banks. Raids were conducted at 12 locations across Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru, with six new cases registered. The investigation aims to uncover the alleged collusion between builders and financial institutions, focusing on the ‘subvention scheme’ through which homebuyers were reportedly trapped. The CBI has seized numerous important documents and electronic evidence during the raids.
