Breaking new ground in India’s research ecosystem, IIT Delhi introduces a transformative accelerator program funded by the Deepak Raghavan Family Foundation. Exclusively for faculty under 45, it appoints them as endowed chair professors for five years, backed by versatile grants and support systems.
The funding’s adaptability is its strength—utilizable for lab equipment, software tools, on-site investigations, model building, or expert hires. Strategic alliances with industries and peers are promoted to bridge the gap between lab discoveries and real-world applications, spurring patents and tech advancements.
Chair professors benefit from dedicated teams and facilities, enabling seamless integration of research with teaching. The program also offers quinquennial fully funded PhD slots, where fellows team up with mentors for collaborative projects and worldwide conference opportunities.
Institute head Prof. Rangan Banerjee noted that with India’s finest minds at IIT Delhi, this initiative will fuel extraordinary progress in research and innovation.
In essence, it’s a forward-thinking endeavor to fortify research infrastructure, cultivate leadership, and deliver solutions to societal issues, reflecting a shared commitment to enduring academic excellence.
