Day two of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi drew top-tier speakers underscoring collaboration between technology and human smarts. Ranjana Chopra, Ministry of Culture’s Additional Secretary, shared with IANS that the event empowers diverse stakeholders to present AI breakthroughs.
She praised the Tribal Ministry’s innovative translator bridging four tribal tongues, which garnered enthusiastic feedback and collaboration prospects.
Chopra hailed its value for the younger generation: witnessing AI solutions to daily hurdles, gaining inspiration, networking, and job leads.
In telecom insights, COAI’s Lt. Gen. Dr. SP Kochar explained AI’s backbone: telecom networks. “Data moves via us,” he said. 5G awaits full profitability, but AI will amplify opportunities through heightened demand from user-friendly apps on display.
Enhanced 5G via AI promises smarter networks. Kochar called for urgent rural expansion of fiber and ROW. “Connectivity first, then AI,” he mandated, painting a future of ubiquitous AI services fostering remote employment and growth.
IMERIT’s Radha Ramaswami Basu envisioned AI’s evolution from raw power to practical tools. “Human experts in the loop are key,” she told IANS. Large models need domain infusion for insurance, health, and agriculture.
Specialized small models shine in agriculture, per Basu. Her company’s decade-long efforts yielded 9,500+ jobs by training AI with pros like doctors and accountants. “Expertise makes AI viable,” she stressed with accounting as a prime case.
