Prime Minister Modi met with King Charles at Sandringham House after finalizing the details of the India-UK trade deal. The meeting was a key moment, demonstrating the growing relationship between the two nations. According to the Royal Family, the King was given a tree to plant, inspired by the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, promoting environmental awareness. The trade deal gives Indian exporters duty-free access to the UK market for almost all products. Simultaneously, tariffs on UK goods imported into India will be reduced. This will benefit Indian consumers. The deal also provides a boost to India’s agricultural sector, opening the door for exports of goods like tea, mangoes, and spices. The deal also includes provisions for lowering import duties on UK-produced whisky and gin, and also reduces tariffs on automobiles, with quota limitations.
