India is preparing to celebrate its 79th Independence Day on August 15, 2025. All eyes will be on the Red Fort in Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation from the ramparts. This will be his twelfth Independence Day speech since becoming Prime Minister. The program will begin around 7:30 AM. The national flag will be hoisted at 7:35 AM. The national anthem and salute will follow at 7:37 AM. Prime Minister Modi’s address is scheduled to begin at 7:45 AM. The Prime Minister will be welcomed at the Red Fort by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other high-ranking officials. The Indian Armed Forces and the Delhi Police will present a Guard of Honour to the Prime Minister. The national flag hoisting party will include personnel from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Delhi Police. The 128-member contingent will present the national salute during the flag hoisting. After the flag hoisting, the Tricolour will be given a national salute. An Air Force band composed of a JCO and 25 other ranks, will play the national anthem during the flag hoisting and national salute.
