The mother of Raja Raghuvanshi, Uma Raghuvanshi, is seeking justice and the death penalty for those responsible for her son’s murder in Meghalaya. ‘I want justice for my son. The accused should be hanged,’ she said. She believes that more people were likely involved. Uma spoke about her family’s initial joy in welcoming her daughter-in-law, Sonam, into the family. She last spoke with them on May 23rd, unaware of any issues. Vipin Raghuvanshi, Raja’s brother, has accused Sonam of staging her surrender and alleges that more than five individuals were involved. Four accused, including Anand, are in transit remand while the Meghalaya Police continue their investigation. Authorities believe Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raj Kushwaha are the prime suspects. Raja Raghuvanshi was allegedly murdered during his honeymoon. The post-mortem revealed two head injuries. Meghalaya’s Deputy Chief Minister confirmed the arrest of four individuals and the search for another suspect. Sonam surrendered, and all arrested will be brought to Shillong for further investigation.
