MUMBAI: The Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders right here on Wednesday launched INS Vagsheer, the final of the six submarines below Project 75.
The submarine was launched by Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar.
Post-launch, the submarine will endure a complete and rigorous set of assessments and trials for greater than a yr to make sure that it’s totally combat-worthy.
Named after sandfish, a lethal deep water sea predator of the Indian Ocean, the primary submarine ‘Vagsheer’ was commissioned in December 1974.
It was decommissioned in April 1997.
