The Agra Police are currently investigating claims of mistreatment made by a woman named Sarju Yadav against the staff of the Kalindi Vihar, Trans Yamuna Police Station. Yadav accuses police officers, including the Station House Officer (SHO), of assaulting her and tearing her clothes. She has also threatened suicide, saying she will take her own life if justice is not served. The incident allegedly began when she went to the police station to inquire about a case that had already been concluded. A physical altercation between Yadav and a female police officer was caught on video and has gone viral. The Agra Police have countered with a statement that Yadav’s case was closed earlier this year and that she “misbehaved, abused, and physically assaulted” an officer and attempted to harm herself when stopped from recording a video. The police have deemed her allegations as untrue.
