As part of a state-wide initiative, East Singhbhum district has commenced a special awareness campaign against prohibited substances. The Deputy Commissioner, Karn Satyarthi, inaugurated the campaign by launching an awareness chariot from the Collectorate. This chariot will traverse the district’s blocks, educating residents about the adverse consequences of substance abuse. At the launch, the Deputy Commissioner also led an oath-taking ceremony for the officials and staff present, underscoring how addiction affects an individual’s health, future, family, and society, causing mental and physical issues. He encouraged all sections of society to participate in the campaign and work toward a drug-free society. The public is urged to actively engage and spread awareness about the dangers of substance abuse among their contacts. The district administration will leverage this campaign to disseminate the message of liberation from addiction across the district, with the goal of encouraging people to avoid its harmful impacts. The special campaign will continue from June 10 to June 26, 2025, featuring various awareness programs designed to educate the public about the implications of drug abuse.
