Ranchi: A young man died of drowning while bathing in the Blue Pond located in Balsiring of Tupudana OP area of the capital. The deceased has been identified as Mo Shabbir. He was a resident of Hindpidhi Nizam Nagar. Incidents happen every day in Blue Pond, so far about dozens of youths have died due to drowning, but the police has remained a mute spectator, this incident happened on Tuesday late evening. According to the information received on Wednesday, eight youths of Hindpidhi, Mohammad Shabbir, Mohammad Faijan, Mohammad Sahil, Mohammad Hussain, Mohammad Masoom, Mohammad Shoaib, Mohammad Aryan and Mohammad Afridi had gone to visit Blue Pond. Meanwhile, after reaching there, everyone started bathing. While bathing, Mo Shabbir drowned. After this, Shabbir’s friends informed about his drowning on dial 100. Police reached the spot as soon as the information of the case was received. Due to darkness, even the local divers were not ready to get into the pond. Information about the case was given to NDRF. The NDRF team reached the spot on Wednesday morning and searched for the body. OP in-charge Dular Mahato said that the NDRF team has recovered the body of the youth.
