Brutal Assault in Ranchi: Two Held for Gang-Raping Minor in Bero

The Ranchi police have arrested two individuals in connection with the gang-rape of a 13-year-old girl in the Bero locality. This brutal crime has come to light at a time when the Jharkhand government is actively promoting schemes like the ‘Maiya Samman Yojana’ to empower women, highlighting a stark contrast between policy and the ground reality of public safety. The victim was staying with relatives when she was abducted under false pretenses on Thursday evening. The accused, Raja Badaik, reportedly used the girl’s innocence against her by offering to buy her snacks at the market. He then forcibly took her to a desolate location near Hariharpur Jamtoli Road, where he and his friend Kameshwar committed the crime. They eventually dumped the girl in a secluded building and disappeared into the night.
