Chandwa Brothers Die in High-Speed Collision Near Khutgari Village

The Latehar-Saryu main road turned into a site of tragedy on Saturday when a high-speed collision between a car and a bike claimed the lives of two brothers. The deceased, Virendra Oraon and Surendra Oraon, were residents of Murtiya village and were known to be returning from a trip to the Saryu area. The accident occurred near Khutgari village, where an oncoming car struck their motorcycle in a violent head-on crash. Both victims died instantly due to the severity of the impact, leading to a somber atmosphere in their native village. Following the accident, local residents expressed their frustration over the lack of safety measures on this particular highway. They noted that the brothers were pinned under the vehicle after the crash, and it was only after the intervention of several locals that they could be removed. The police were called to the scene to manage the situation and ensure the flow of traffic was not hindered further. Inspector Pramod Kumar of the Sadar Police Station stated that a formal investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the collision. Preliminary reports indicate that speed may have played a significant role in the tragedy. The police have registered a case and are in the process of questioning witnesses. Meanwhile, the bodies have been moved for post-mortem procedures. The local administration is being urged by the community to install warning signs and speed regulators in accident-prone zones to prevent such loss of life in the future.
